Claudio Missagia

Born in 1959, the Italian artist Claudio works with acrylics, oils, and mixed media on canvas to produce large-scale paintings defined by a dreamlike atmosphere.

Exploring depictions of chandeliers, lamps, cups, and landscapes, Claudio plays with composition, using a dark color palette to create a dreamlike dimension in his work.

He abandoned his career in business administration to pursue his passion for art and become a professional artist. Through his paintings, he seeks to express his sensitivity to reality and the profound poetry found in everyday life. Although he often abstracts the subjects he represents, what he wants to present to the viewer is his undiluted vision of reality.

Claudio works with cotton or burlap canvases, then uses chalk and plaster as a base for his compositions, which he typically executes in acrylics, pastels, or pencils.

In terms of representation, his work has evolved over the years, from still lifes to interiors. His paintings have been exhibited worldwide, including solo exhibitions in Siena, Saint-Tropez, Mougins, Venice, Madrid, and Germany. Byard Art has also exhibited his work at major art fairs in London and New York.
